My dream is not a joke

bank born branch manager confidence dream edmonton family financial financially happy left middle income middle income families part time basis people raised serving struggling thinking Mar 10, 2024

I came from the banking industry, I was a branch manager for almost 20 years of my career at a major bank in Canada.

And I had left after 20 years almost to the day, to go and fulfill what I felt was the journey that I was supposed to take. And I have not looked back since. I am so glad that I did.

I never really questioned really what people thought of me because I guess I just assumed that with my reputation, and with how I treat people in general, that people will just understand and have confidence that I knew what I was doing. I think, for the most part, most people who know who I am and know and care about me do know and have confidence that I chose the right path.

But there are still some who might be a little bit skeptical about why I left and are still skeptical. In fact, I will outwardly joke proactively that I was probably either courageous or crazy that I left a full-time, pensioned, salaried, job. Now, just so you know, I entered into basic self-employment, I went into business for myself to go out there and tell my story.

I urge you to start thinking about what you’re doing in life, and if it’s actually serving you, and if you actually want to go ahead for the rest of your life to keep doing what you’re doing. If it is great, I applaud you for getting it on the first try. It took me 20 years to realize it. I have the inspiration and the motivation to go out there and help middle-income families because I know what they’re struggling with.

When I left my job, I was nearing 45years old, which means I spend about half of my life discovering myself, and discovering what makes me happy.

I would like to spend the last half of my life, making a difference, which is who I am.

I have always wanted to be different. I know that I am not special, but I know that what I want to do is pretty special.

Be legendary.
