Do you remember when you were a kid? What were you like…
Mar 10, 2024
I am 46 years old.
I started to ask myself, what changed?
I was a passionate kid.
I loved entertainment and I loved entertaining people. I liked being onstage performing.
There was this one summer, my cousin and I had this idea to put on a DANCESHOW.
We would perform in front of my garage, involve other kids around the neighbourhood, and invited people.
We even typed up invitations and I even remember how excited I was about it.
I had this vision. That there would be a sea of faces, just watching me and my friends dancing.
Anyways, now I realize now thinking as an adult, I am like wow, what changed?
How did I go from enjoying standing out, to just wanting to fit in?
It is interesting that simply growing up, mutes that inner child because of fear of being judged and what OTHER people think.
So, I encourage you to think back to when you were a kid. What kind of kid were you?
Did you like playing with others? Did you like building things to do? Did you like to be creative? Did you like to color? Did you like to paint? Did you like to write? Did you like to dance?
What were those things?
I wanted to entertain… I wanted to make people happy…. you know I think I wanted to bring joy to their faces. I liked to be the center of attention and share things that were good. Right.
I want to encourage you, who may have muted yourself for so long, to think, what is it that you want? Think back to those things that you knew were good for you and others.
You should really recognize that that was you.
No one told you that you were wrong, they just enjoyed you because you were a kid.
Go dance, and sing… whatever that was.
Just laugh.
